Dr. Kimberly N. Jackson…..

has dedicated her life and career to working with young people from every walk of life. A lifelong educator and leader, she has served students across Illinois, Missouri, and Nebraska—guiding them through the challenges of academics, identity, and purpose. Currently serving as a high school Principal in Omaha Nebraska, Dr. Jackson has also led schools in the St. Louis Metropolitan area and Rockford, Illinois, building a reputation as a turnaround leader, problem-solver, and advocate for student growth.

Her career began in counseling, where her deep understanding of child development took root. That foundation—blending counseling insight with a love for young people—evolved into a leadership philosophy focused on accountability, purpose, and empowerment. She believes every child deserves to discover their voice and their place in the world, and she has worked relentlessly to create systems and opportunities to make that possible.

Beyond her work as a principal, Dr. Jackson is the founder of Dr. Jack-Ask Consulting, a growing platform that helps schools and districts design practical, sustainable systems for student success. Her consulting work includes turnkey solutions, leadership coaching, and customized frameworks for program development—from college and career pathways to community partnerships, family engagement, and instructional alignment. Drawing on her experience leading transformational initiatives such as Early College and Pathway programs, she helps districts move from ideas to implementation with clarity, accountability, and measurable impact.

As both an educator and author, Dr. Jackson has illuminated the struggles and opportunities of intergenerational communication. She coined the phrase “bridge generation” to describe those, like herself, who stand between today’s youth and the wisdom of elders. Her mission is to connect those two worlds—channeling the energy and ideas of young people while honoring the hard-won experience of those who came before.

Her passion for writing extends beyond the schoolhouse. Dr. Jackson is the author of The MLK Image: Raising Kids in a Divided Society and Let’s Talk: Communicating with Today’s Youth, with her forthcoming book Slave Ways exploring the deep psychological and cultural legacies of slavery on modern relationships and identity. Through her books, consulting, speaking, and blogging, she opens the door to conversations that are challenging, necessary, and ultimately healing.

This blog is an extension of that work—a safe but unapologetically honest space for discussing the most pressing issues facing our youth, families, and communities today. Dr. Jackson invites readers to engage, reflect, and contribute to building solutions that bridge divides and move us forward together.
